Cost of price plans

Why is it that for the iPhone there is such a high monthly fee, and limited options of paying more upfront, to reduce the monthly cost?

The cheapest one is below:

£39 month

£69 upfront

Unlimitedtexts

I know it is a premium device, but there seems to be no movement on this.

It does seem that the iPhone does command a high'ish tariff and upfront fees.

Disposable Income allowing it could be better in the long run to buy it sim free from  and move to a Sim Only Tariff.

Vodafone won't be moving on the price, the price you see on the website will be the same for everyone.

Its the same every time a new iphone is launched, its a high end phone and being an Apple product, the demand is high.

There is always the option of purchasing the phone unlocked and SIM free from Apple.  May be expensive to start with but will work out cheaper in the long run and, of course, buying without a contract direct from Apple, it will come unlocked.

Considering the iPhone6 is £459...

Split that over 24 months makes it £19.13 a month to pay for the handset.

The remaining £19.86 is the bundle price

If you were to buy the phone yourself, allowing for you having £460 to spend, then for the same £19.86 (well £19)

you could get an unlimited plan with 2GB data.

So more calls, and another gig, for you having to find the money for the phone...

A reasonable comprimise really.

That's fair enough I guess. What you expect from a premium device.

Do we think with the release of the 6s the prices plans of the 6 may drop?
