Does anybody else think the 2GB 7 day data boost is irresponsible. Vulnerable people getting extra data for 7 days will increase their use and then get used to it and then all of s sudden the offer is over but they ate now using data with the extra usage in mind. Vodafone can then charge people for going over the limit. It looks great from them they are giving data away but they are getting money back in extra charges from vulnerable people that forget to readjust.

Hi @stevew71 sorry but don't agree with your view. I think it's great when they give free treats, surely as it doesn't happen that often and only for a short time customers will realise this and won't have to adjust any habits.

It gives people a false picture of available data then find it difficult to go back when the offers over then either get charged for using more data or upgrade as they have got used to data

Surely a little bit of extra data for a week shouldn't cause people any problems. You don't have to accept it so if worried about it just don't activate it.

I understand your stance @stevew71 as going over your Data Allowance especially on a Pay Monthly Contract Type can be expensive.
However to add mobile phones have data monitors in them and some have warnings and settings in the data monitor to auto stop data once a self set limit has been reached.
Caps are available on some contract types.
The myVodafone app and online myvodafone allows a person to check usage.
Turning Off Mobile Data in the phones settings etc.
There's lots of ways to self monitor to keep data usage in check.
I think in my experience data usage is the most used part of a tariff allowance so most would be happy to take advantage of perks as and for those that are not interested then they can make an informed choice to let it go.

Presumably you're against buy one get one free offers cos some people might get used to getting two jars of coffee for the price of one then auomatically take two off the shelf next time when the offer is over and end up spending twice as much money?

Just to add to what @BandOfBrothers said about data caps being available on some types of contract. All current ones have this option and the older tarriffs that don't are being pensioned off. I was on one of these and was transferred to a new one, with cap, a few days ago.
The data boost is optional so, if you think it may be a disadvantage, you don't have to opt in.

Just looked and I have this option so I thought I'd try it and see what happens. I don't need the extra data - I have a 20GB contract and I never get anywhere near using it all up - but it's an experiment to see how it works.

I have also not bothered to activate my offer, I have 16GB and only ever use half, so not much point having an extra 2GB to be used up within a week. Not quite sure how it works, but thought it would kick in when the monthly allowance had been used.
If Vodafone offered something I might want to have, I would take them up on the offer, a line rental credit would be nice.
