So the release date is the 11th of March but if you pre-order Samsung says you can benefit by having it 3 days early. Will vodafone honour that? I've pre-ordered mine but the sales guys have no idea when the phones will start to get dispatched.

@kradcliffe2  Stock shortages always occur when a new high end phone is released as no manufacturer get can the demand for the phone correct, they just work on  demand.
anticipated
Although pre-order give a good indication of numbers shortly before the due release date it is not easy to suddenly up production to meet the demand and no manufacturer wants to guess numbers and then end up with a  unsold stock of expensive phones sitting in the ,
warehouses
On the release of the iPhone 6 there was a massive shortfall between anticipated and the actual demand on release so in some cases  were waiting up to 60 days for new stock.
networks.
Manuafactuers do not have a real incentive to over produce again projected sales figures as they know that if someone wants a new model expensive phone they will wait for it to become available.

Oh marvellous, so those with damaged phones when they were delivered might not get a replacement straight away.

That worries me too, was told Thursday. Will find out tomorrow if they come replace

Delete, are you getting a replacement Thursday or do you have to call to arrange a replacement?

Wasn't my phone. It was a replacement credit card that was just posted through my door. Still no sign of the phone being shipped.

Can see me cancelling

Just called them again and they have arranged a replacement to come put on Monday which is alright by me as im on nights over the weekend and don't really want my sleep disturbed or miss the courier! They have also arranged a new sim as mine was missing. Spoke to them about the vr headset and they are coming from Samsung themselves. If I've not got mine by Monday I have to call them back again.

This all seems a bit of a faff and there is quite a few conflicting stories and information coming out of vodafone at the moment. Not sure if I will stay with them next time.

Problem with big companies like Vodafone is that they concentrate more on pleasing the shareholder than satisfying the customer.

If they invested in properly trained staff and a professional logistics system all this could be avoided.

To be honest they look like a bunch of clowns at present. This is the first contract handset I have bought in years and it will certainly be the last. I should have known better.

If my handset doesn't turn up at the store for collect tomorrow as promised they will be told firmly where to shove it.
