Delivery date

So the release date is the 11th of March but if you pre-order Samsung says you can benefit by having it 3 days early. Will vodafone honour that? I've pre-ordered mine but the sales guys have no idea when the phones will start to get dispatched.

I pre-ordered mine on 24th via Webchat, and I was told 

With us putting this through today you will get your phone from 07/03/2016, we were able to get this into that time frame for you so you should get it a few days earlier than normal.

I have been in touch with livechat a few times and they keep telling me I will get my phone on 7th as promised, but so far I have not got any email regarding the shipping/delivery of my phone. It should've been shipped by today so it arrives on 7th (Monday, 2 days from now) but it hasn't and I haven't got any email regarding it yet. 

Carriers in the US have shipped it so early, even Carphone Warehouse here in UK have started shipping preorders, not sure why Vodafone is taking so long, especially when they promised me 07/03. I asked the livechat guy today and he says the phone is in stock!

Firstly, the test you posted says "you will get your phone from 07/03/2016" - the key word being "from". That means any day on or after the 7th. That ties in with what the call-centre people are stating (the 8th). 

Secondly, phones will be delivered by same-day/overnight courier, so for delivery Monday, they would ship Sunday (or possibly Saturday), not today. The phone might be in stock, but Vodafone has to process them - SIM cards, packaging etc, and there are probably tens of thousands going out this weekend.

It doesn't really matter what carriers in the US are doing - I have no idea why people keep mentioning that. Perhaps Samsung delivered the devices earlier in the US, or perhaps there was an exclusive early release deal (just like the silver phone is exclusive in the US). 

I pre-ordered mine on the 23rd and it still shows as stage 2. I fully expect it to arrive on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. It'll arrive when it arrives.

That's good then, I didn't know they ship same day/overnight, this is the first time I am getting it delivered vs picking it up from store. Mine's an upgrade order

Take anything Vodafone say on Live Chat with a pinch of salt. Invariably they will say what they think you want to hear, regardless of how close to the truth it is. They continually told me my phone order was fine, despite my finding out on a phone call to someone in the UK on Wednesday that the order had been "stuck" (I'm quoting) from the first day I ordered it and that it needed to be released.

Sim cards tent to get sent separately so that's wrong. Fact of the matter is the vodafone website still says if you order before the 6th you'll receive it by the 8th.

Every phone I've ever ordered (about 8 in the last 7 years) has had the SIM card shipped with the phone. If they didn't do that, you'd have hundreds of angry customers with phones they can't use.....

If the website says it'll arrive by the 8th, then it'll probably arrive by the 8th. 

I'm not pro voda, I'm not anti voda. I just don't understand why everyone is getting so het up about something which hasn't happened yet. If it gets to Wednesday, then sure, have a whinge about it (despite the fact that the official phone launch is the 11th). But why is everyone stressing out now, when it's 4 days until the day Voda is saying phones will arrive?!!?!?

Personally, I won't have much of an issue if I get it delivered on the 11th, although earlier would be preferable. But they will have zero excuses after that given that I pre-ordered the day after pre-ordering began over two weeks prior to that. I will be calling and complaining.

I'm sure you will. But it's a bit early to be worrying about that now, right?

The T&Cs state that pre-orders up to midnight on Sunday will arrive by Tuesday, so it's pretty clear that orders are going to ship through Monday, to arrive Tues.
