Device not accepting SIM card

I am a pay monthly contract Vodafone customer, my device is a Samsung, recently when I put my SIM card it appears the message emergency calls only on the screen and it also says that it cannot find a network. Have sent it to fix but they said they could not find any problem with the device... Don't know what to do, someone can help me?

Hi there

It could be a faulty SIM card, or a signal issue in the area.  Have you tried the SIM in another device?

Yes I have and the new mobile accepts the card so I think the problem is of the device.

Have you checked the phone isn't in airplane mode? You can find out how to do this here.

If it's not, where was it you got the phone from and when did the problems start happening?
