I can swear I read somewhere on the Vodafone website that in order to qualify for the flexi-upgrade you need to go to the same or higher tariff but for the life of me I cannot find it.
Am I imagining things??!
Also if anyone has done the flexi-update yet can you choose to pay a higher up front cost to bring down the monthly tariff?

Hi @Anonymous
As mentioned on the flexi upgrade support link, you can find if you are eligible and how much a flexi upgrade will cost simply by logging onto your online account or from the My Vodafone application.
Vodafone will be giving a new phone on a new agreement and the early upgrade charge won't come cheap.
If you are looking for something cheaper and have the money, buy the phone outright, carry on using the airtime contract and change to SIM only at the end of contract.

I know all that information already thanks, what I am after is to know if anyone else has seen the information stating that you can only upgrade to the same or higher tariff which I believe I saw but now cannot find it.
I am fully aware of how flexi-update works along with the costs associated with the handset etc.

Hi. I have never seen a post saying you must go to a higher tariff to qualify for flexi upgrades. I have seen that you have to be on certain tariffs to qualify. It is also Vodafone policy that should you wish to change your monthly tariff prior to the contract end date you can only do so by going to an equivalent or higher tariff, not a lower one, without penalty.
