Dear community,

I'm just asking quiclky about my netwrok, on my admin panel for my router it tells me i should be getting 50 up 10 down speed, but whenever I go to speedtest It tells me i have around 10-20down 5-10up speed.

Any reasoning for this?

Hi Connor

The amount of difference from ethernet to WiFi speed is usually around a 20% drop.

What do you mean by the admin panel for your router?

If you call the Vodafone Broadband team they can tell you exactly what your download and upload speed are guaranteed at (thought this is only over a wired connection).

Most broadband, vodafone included, will always have a higher download speed than upload speed.

@B-12345 badly worded on my part there, I guess what I was trying to say is any provider which connects through BT Wholesales FTTC (like Vodafone broadband does) would be restricted to a max of 20mbps upload. In theory.

Jeffkinn is correct in terms of some providers offer you a leased line, I'm not sure how it works but the up and down speeds are about the same, big businesses like the one I work for have a special connection like this and they're totally separate packages from the general consumer broadband choices, i.e Vodafone home broadband, Sky, Plusnet, talktalk etc

Ah that's better haha, thanks!
