Hello
I have recently started looking at houses and beginning to try and get mortgage offers. To my huge surprise I've discovered that I have a default from vodafone for a whopping £25 dating back to August 2012, this is having a massively nagative effect on my otherwise perfect credit rating.
Since discovering this 4 days ago I have been trying to speak to someone who can tell me why it is there and of course get it removed. Tried chatting online with someone on Sunday and incredibly frustrating the IT system was down and I kept getting told to try back, after the 4th try I got through to someone who told me that they couldn't help and I'd need to call back on Monday to speak to the credit file team. As advised I called back on Monday, after 50 minutes, numerous hand off's to other people/teams, long periods on hold and repeating myself time and time again, I was told that the team I needed to speak to finished at 1700 so I'd have to call back again!!! They couldn't find my details at all and offered to send me an email saying I had not missed any payments but I pointed out that was not good enough, they needed to contact experian and ask for it to be removed. Unbelieveably poor service.
I submitted a complaint online on Tuesday and subsequently received a call/message Tuesday and today to call back. I get no mobile rception at work so it is very difficult to call back...hence my emailed complaint. I did eventually get enough reception to call today, only to be told that they couldn't discuss anything with me as the phone I was calling from is in my wife's name... yes that's true, it's through my wife's business but that's not the line that I was calling to discuss; I was calling to discuss the account that was in my name 5 years ago & has a default added to it incorrectly! For whatever reason the guy on the end of the phone simply coudln't conceive that I wasn't calling to enquire about the line I was calling from. I was so frustrated that I ended the call abruptly.
Anyone offer any advice on how to get through to the credit support team? that 2 vodafone advisers have told me to call and speak too but I just can't get through too!!
Thanks

Hi @Bowbox6735
I appreciate and understand how damaging a default and or marker can be ,and the difficulty in having one removed from a Credit File.
The Vodafone Community forum is monitored by Vodafone U.K. There are members of the Vodafone Social Media Team who are available to respond and Help where they can. They have the Vodafone logo next to their name so a person knows they are officially Vodafone.
All posts are read by them.
Hang in there and I'm sure they'll be in touch.
In the interim Below in Bold is a help guide I have written that explains why sometimes Defaults are applied and what a person can do.
Http://www.experian.co.uk are there to help and advise too.
