Had an email last night to advise that VF Smartpass will stop working in November.
Hardly a surprise now that Apple/Andoid Pay are now used by so many banks. I only stopped using my S/Pass on Monday when Nat West finally joined AndriodPay.
It was a faff having up upload funds to the S/Pass before using it, as opposed to being able to add your bank card direct to the wallet, but it was useful on several occasions when I was without my card.
If you have a S/Pass but haven't seen the email then it's reproduced below:
Dear SmartPass user,
From today, 15th September 2016, Vodafone SmartPass will no longer be accepting registrations and your account will be closing soon.
You can keep using your existing virtual SmartPass card on Vodafone Wallet, SmartPass Tag, and SmartPass companion card as usual until we start closing SmartPass accounts on 15th November.

How do I get my remaining balance?
You need to make sure you retrieve any remaining balance before your account is closed. You can spend it, withdraw it via an ATM using your companion card, or get it refunded to your linked cards and bank accounts by contacting our customer support.
What if I don’t do it before 15th November?
Don’t worry, if you miss the deadline you can talk to our customer support team about sorting a refund.
