Hi and a Warm Welcome to the forum.

If trying a soft reset by turning it off and on and your on the newest firmware update available to you does not help then I would suggest making a back up to save your data and perform a Hard Reset if your phone is not operating as it should. This helps to clear out old files.

Link to show how here -> http://www.hard-reset.com/samsung-galaxy-s3-hard-reset.html

If these or any other self help tips do not help then I'd then suggest speaking directly with Samsung as the phone is under warranty for 2 years.

Hope this resolves for you ASAP.

Perhaps let us know how you get on and hopefully resolve your handset issues so any others searching for a similar fix can be helped.

Thank you. took it back to Vodafone before you posted, they were baffled so have sent it away.

No worries.

I'm guessing they'll send it to a 3rd party repair centre and do the usual checks to see if the water indicators have been tripped and flash the firmware.

Would you let us know what happens. 😎
