Hi fruitsalad,

A fair usage policy would not apply in the case of the Mobile Broadband as you will be on a specific price plan usually 3GB or 5GB depending on what contract you are on. You can check the price plan on the documentation that you got when you took out the deal or by looking on your bill. If you were to go over your inclusive GB allowance then you would be charged at £15 per GB.

In regards to the speeds you would get 7.2Mbps is the maximum you can achieve that would be in a Very Strong 3G+ area, when registering in a standard 3G area you should be achieve speeds of around 300kbps to 350kbps in a strong signal. As a user of the mobile broadband myself using a 3.6Mbps modem I usually get speeds of around 1-2Mbps in a 3G+ which means I can stream video and browse as good as my fixed line connection, at home I have quite a weak 3G signal and get around 200kbps.

I have included a link to some FAQ's on Mobile Broadband which should be of help to you.

Thanks B-)
