Free 1 month 4G & extra data

Just received a text message saying i had been given free access to ultra fast 4G for a month and an extra 500mb of data. great for fast surfing but im not so sure about phone calls.

in settings > mobile network > network mode it shows 4G & 3G & 2G

my signal strength is only showing half compared to 3G full.

i work in a hospital and my phone is used for emergency's so i cant risk loseing signal.

Question:

should it auto switch to 3G if i lose 4G signal or is it better just to set the phone to 3G and leave it at that.

reason im asking is back when 3G was new my old phone would show 3G & 2G but when 3G went down i lost all connection and manually had to change to 2G to be able to send and receive calls.

4G isn't currently used for anything other than data anyway. Your phone would automatically toggle to 2G/3G for calls so I wouldn't worry about missing anything.
