Well it kind of is John, Vodafone know full well what date they will be releasing it but they are too pre-occupied with the Apple launch to give this any thought. In all seriousness they will have known for weeks they just can't say due to PR restrictions.
I imagine the day we find out from Vodafone we will have found out from numerous other tech sources
