Hi all

Can you please help me with this problem, I have following the advise on this thread and still cannot download or send MMS on my Samsung S3.

All was good with MMS before I upgraded to the S3.

Many thanks.

Ann,

I have just checked the settings on my S3 and they are as above except the MMS proxy IP address which end in .12 not .012

The full address is 212.183.137.12

I've no idea if this will make a difference

Hi Jeff

It worked !      Changed from 012 to 12 and the MMS downloaded immediately.

Thanks Jeff. x

Could the Tech Team look into this...?

My APN ends in 012 also! I don't intend to use MMS but it may help others!

Could this be why so many people have problems with MMS...? Are the wrong settings being sent out...?

Can the Team confirm is it 212.183.137.012 or 212.183.137.12

I have never messed around with my MMS settings - they were set up automatically when I set up the phone. I don't often use MMS as I prefer to use Whatsapp but I received some MMS's from my daughter today and have just tested sending a pic of my beloved doing the ironing to her phone (she was not impressed!) - and it went without a problem.

So it looks like .12 is the right setting

I used the text WEB to 40127 to test if it worked while helping someone with a problem, so perhaps that's why mine are different?

It needs to be clarified...?

To be honest I would be very surprised if this is the issue. The numbers 012 and 12 are exactly the same, just the former has a zero prefix. As a developer I know they should amount to the same value, unless they are being interpreted as a string value - if this is the case then that is pretty poor and at the very least the support pages should show the correct value.

Too late to edit, just too add my setting is also 12 and not 012. I have never changed it so must have been either a typo on my part or copy-paste from support page, I can't remember which. Sorry if this has caused some unnecessary confusion!

Hi guys,

First off thanks to jeffkinn for helping AnnS get this resolved. I'll be honest, I'm a little perplexed on this one myself as .12 and .012 should indeed have the same value. I'll be happy to forward this on to an advanced technical team with more knowledge on this than me to see if they can replicate, confirm and clarify it for me.

I'd highly recommend that any customers who report  MMS struggles to try this in the meantime too if it's worked for AnnS. :Winking_smiley:

Cheers, Ben
