HTC 10 on Vodafone

So, exciting news about the HTC 10 yesterday.
The leaks left me doubting if the device was good enough, but initial reviews suggest it might have got it right.

In the meantime TechRadar suggests VF are sitting on the fence about whether to stock it.

I'm sure a helpful VF member of staff will point us to the pointless "Coming Soon" page. Thanks for that.

Meantime here in the real world who would like VF to stock the HTC 10?
Is it incredible or even possible that VF are considering to NOT run with it?

Yeah mine is 35% in half an hour too. Depends on which point the battery is at though. I think the battery has some sort of trickle charge to finish off, so if going from 20-55% thirty mins no worries, but 70%-full takes longer

Ive ordered the Spigen Slim Armour cases and screen protectors, when my son saw he said "cool a porn case" lol Oh and Samsung pro plus cards a massive 128gb for him and a sensible 32gb for me 😄 They they are a bit of overkill but too fast is better than too slow. Cant wait for the phones to arrive.

Slim Armor or the Neo Hybrid would be my 3rd choice but I've missed the cheap deals and anyway I don't want too many. If you go for Spigen you end up with a sexy phone regardless of your choice :Smiling: Personally I cannot cope with screen protectors, I'd rather have a few light scratches on the screen (as I have on my M8) than having to feel the protector everytime I touch the screen :Smiling:

Htc 10 still gorgeous.
VF still not stocking; VF still not understanding the client base.

I'm not so sure about that TBH:

it seems HTC devices have failed to impress

With Q1 earnings reporting

a 64.31% decrease over the same quarter in 2015

I'm afraid that the earning report speaks more accurately about the state of affairs than a survey on a website.

Looking at it from a business point of view, I can see why Vodafone wouldn't stock the handset.  Which is sad, considering that I used to love my HTC devices, but unfortunately, I've not seen the appeal in recent years and have moved onto other brands.

I wouldn't blame VF if they were using HTC's predicament as leverage to drive down the cost of purchasing a large stock order.

Maybe that's why it's taking so long - they're still in negotiations?

@drey_p i think i saw it reported that those Q1 numbers don't include the vibe or the HTC10 as neither were released yet, plus losses normally compare to the same period previous year which is when HTC had a few other new releases on the go. Q2 is the one we need to see. If they fail there then they have major issues.

Agreeded but the figures are generally indicative of the situation that HTC are in - they are losing market share quite considerably.

@drey_p If the figures are reporting sales vs the same period last year then things could change quite dramatically with the Q2 results. When i enquired about the HTC10 in one VF store, they told me that they'd never sold a HTC device in that branch. If that was indicative of the entire VF store chain then it would definitely give them reason to be cautious over the HTC10.

Having had the device for a few weeks i have to say that i think it's great and definitely one of the top handsets available today. A work colleague has a S7 edge and it's broken already (cracked the top corner of the screen by the FF camera and she doesn't know how!) Plus my GF has the iPhone 6s as a personal mob and the Note 4 for work. I'd personally pick the HTC over any of those 3, plus having seen in the flesh quite a few G5s with poor build quality on the module slot, I'd go so far as to say that the HTC10 is the best all around phone out there at the moment. If HTC had enough in the bank to do some tidy marketing then it should be a no brainer as one of the top shopped phone out today. Sadly with the p9, g5 and s7 all getting good TV time, i think the HTC10 is going to get lost in the mix

Spoke to 2 people at Vodafone who are confident they will have the HTC 10 at the start of June, they have not got a tariff set up but advised stock is on its way, I hope so as if they don't have it by then I will be getting one some where else.
