HTC Desire A8181 - no mobile internet

I've lost Internet connection and the ability to send picture messages , I've reset the APNs to that shown on this site, however the phone won't connect to the internet and no G appears by the signal strength bar. The mobile network box is ticked but says it can't connect because of an incorrect APN. It connects through wifi ok. Any suggestions?!

These are settings I'm using http://devicehelp.vodafone.co.uk/filestore/devices/HTC/Desire/HTCDesire_WAP.pdf

Cheers dan

Hi @Devondan

If you visit your nearest Vodafone store, they'll try a different SIM

If this doesn't make a difference, we'll need to send your phone for repair.

Thanks,

Hi there

Typically you can get the correct settings sent through to your device by texting the word WEB to 40127.  Alternatively, you will find the most up to date settings here

PWIAC

Sadly the phone doesnt take message settings, and I tried the general setting you provided a link to, but that doesn't work, which is why I then went to the model specific settings I provided the link to...... And that didn't work which is why I am stuck!

Hi @Devondan

Our Live help team can check this for you.

Thanks,

Sarah

Really?! Have you tried??!! I called 191, followed the directions entering the relevant numbers to confirm I was having problems with the Internet, the automated reply kindly said I could get the APN settings from the web site and cut the call. Not really scoring high on the customer service front!!!

I should add that there's no one available on chat either.

So can anyone actually help?!

I finally got through to vodaphone phone chat and was given the apn that is the same as the one in the first reply above, he said wait half an hour and it will work, sadly it doesn't. So I am back to square 1 with no mobile internet. Could this be a phone or SIM card problem?
