HTC One X - Signal Drop Out and Not Regained

Hi

I have had a HTC One X for the past month, however this problem has been gradually getting worse.

Mainly in work but its also happened other places i can have a great signal and be on HSDPA or 3G, then i will move to somewhere such as the kitchen area in work and the signal will drop out. I will then return to my desk and put the phone in the exact place it was getting full signal and data connection but the Signal will not come back. I will get the No Signal message.

I have tried leaving the phone for over 30 mins but the signal doesnt come back and also looking for the network manually but it doesnt find it.

However, if i restart the phone the full signal and HSDPA/3G connection will come back.

Is this a fault with the phone or a strange network issue?

try the sim tape mod, my phone hasn't dropped out since i've done it :smileyhappy:

I'll try that - thanks.

The fact I have very poor reception inside the house means I can  more or less reproduce this problem at will just by going inside and walking outside agian.

So if the tape fix works it  will be obviuos.

Mine seems better since doing the 'tape-mod' but it hasn't resolved it completely. I still sometimes find it on my desk at work (where I usually have full signal) suddenly saying "Emergency Calls only".

we may have two seperate problems here.

Slightly too small SIM and  getting stuck in a no signal loop/time out.

Either would more or less give the same "fault"

Any progress on this problem? I did the GSM auto change in the service menu and it seemed to have improved although the internet connection now seems to have developed a fault. Intermitantly the phone will not connect to anything, ie facebook, ebay, google etc.... the icon shows 3g or H but everything just times out or says no connection. Switching to airplane mode and back does nothing and the only fix is a restart.

I just checked the service menu and the option had reverted back to WCDMA prefered, is this because of rebooting? Do you have to make the change everytime?

I do like the One X but it's really tempremental compared to my Desire HD!!

Hi Guys,

At the moment the last update that we have regarding the signal on the HTC Once X is as follows;

HTC is currently working on a software fix to address the issues highlighted in this thread for the One X and One S. Once we receive the update from HTC, we'll pass it through the usual testing process and, when approved, HTC will make it available to customers as soon as possible. In the meantime, thank you for your patience whilst this was investigated.

Thatnks for the update. I came here looking as my One X does the eaxact same thing. It was really annoying today when I had couriered a small memorial on my bike to a funeral director (Im a Monumental mason) to be laid with burial of ashes and needed to call him, the urgency along with "crap, I need to reboot the damned thing" was infuriating!

Is there any update on this? I regularly have this issue as well.

Come on Vodafone, without wanting to appear unreasonable, the progress on this issue is not good enough. It's over 3 months since the first post and over 1 month since your last update saying working on it without any significant news. If you can't fix the problem then just switch us all into a SamsungSIII 😉

I have a similar issue where my phone regularly drop signal but it comes back a few seconds later. This happens in lots of different locatiand, even where I have full signal. Is this hardware or software related?
