Hi All
I'm stuck. A week ago I bought and installed SS v3 and had no problems getting it working. I have a Draytek 2820 Vn router, which is Plug'n'Play, and I didn't need to do any port forwarding or change any settings. Yesterday I got a second-hand V2 and began installing it to extend coverage in my home, which has walls two feet thick and is a bit of a challenge for anything wireless. I began the process at about 10 am and got as far as a solid red light and two flashing whites very quickly, but it goes no further. The v3 SS has worked flawlessly throughout this process.
By about 3 pm I was sure nothing more was going to happen, so I reset the box and the process started again, proceeding as before. The v2 had established a connection and was downloading data typically at either 1288 kb/s or 1730 kb/s and uploading at either 74 kb/s or 117 kb/s. I could see a NAT Session for both boxes, with the V2 connecting through port 4500 to Vodafone's IP address 212.183.131.138. It showed a pseudo port of 4500 for the connection. The V3 SS was connecting through port 4500 to 212.183.131.139, though it showed a pseudo port of 39060.
By midnight things had been at a halt for some time, and while the fixed ip address for the V2 SS was showing an occasional 1 kb/s data download, the white lights were still flashing. I then rebooted the router, followed by a reset of the SS. The data transfer began as before, and this morning I'm back where I was. The V2 still has the two flashing white lights and a solid red. In the router's Data Flow Monitor both SureSignals show a single session active each, and every 10 to 15 seconds they pop up towards the top of the list of flows. The V3 shows 1-2 kb/s up and down, while the V2 shows 0. The V2 is now showing a NAT Session with 212.183.133.177 using port 4500, though its pseudo port is also 4500. The V3's pseudo port is 39060.
Can you have a look and see what your system says my status is please? The V2 SS seems to be able to communicate but there's a stage it's getting stuck on. The V3 continues to function properly. Any other advice welcome!

Hi Paul
Performed a reset as requested. The only thing that's changed is that the SS has established a NAT session with 88.82.13.177 on port 4500 and has created a psedo port. Previously the pseudo port wasn't created. It's been sitting there with both white lights flashing and a solid red for about 28 hours now. For the first eight hours or so there was a regular exchange of data with your server, at times as much as 2 Mb/s download and 120 kb/s upload, but it's subsided now to an occasional very low level reception of data - no more than 1 kb/s. Not sure what to try next. I turned off the V3 SS I have for a while at the start of this to see if it would help, but it's now back on and performing normally. It's communicating on a different pseudo port with 212.183.131.138.

Hi Sukhi
Thanks for your reply. I'll give that a go. Just want to make sure I'm not wasting my time here though. If I have more than one SS on my network are they intelligent enough to hand off calls between them, or do they work as islands - am I stuck using the SS that I connect to at the beginning of a call?
Thanks.

Hi muirwoods,
When it comes to the Sure Signals you don’t need to worry as they will hand over the calls from one to the other as you move around your home.
However, if you make a call on the normal network it can’t hand the call over to the Sure Signal, the phone will wait until the call has ended before connecting to the closest Sure Signal.
