Welcome to the eForum

Skype should work very well with your Broadband, but it's designed to use as much bandwidth as possible to make the call quality the best it possibly can. - in theory, Skype could use as much as 1Mb per minute when on calls, and even if it's just sitting on your desktop idle, but connected it could potentialy use up to 50Mb per day.
If you're looking at calling internationally, you might want to check out Vodafone International too, where call charges start from as little as 5p per minute

Thank you Brian827493, glad to hear everything works ok for you

We'd love to have you Roli, here is a link to our products and services page, if you'd like any help or advice with changing provider then I'm happy to help:
http://shop.vodafone.co.uk/
Peteste, we do support the Skype service, firstly check through your Vodafone My Account that your content control bar has been disabled. If it has I suggest you temporarily disable your firewall settings and then see if you get the same error message. If Skype works without the firewall then you simply need to change your settings.
Can all Skype users please be aware that data used in this way is not deducted from your allowance, calls via Skype are charged at £2 per megabyte, heavy users may want to consider our excellent value international call charges as an alternative

I trust that answers everybody’s questions, if anybody has any more questions let me know

Thanks

With some queries already submitted to Vodaphone you havnt done very well with the answers. I couldnt access your network coverage maps as they only work with the infested IE on windoze. I use Linux which your software doesnt like
I wanted assurance of 3g coverage at home, I got an email talking about 2g and pac codes, I replied sayin g they hadnt answered my question and got another saying there was coverage but when I checked on another windoze pc found where I live it is possible that
there is no 3g coverage despite you having around 10 repeaters im my area with outputs of 25 to 29dbw. If I cant be certain, I am not getting tied up for two years like I have been with the crowd I am with now.

I have checked your postcode and you have strong 3G coverage, both 2G and 3G are strong for the majority of Warrington.
I understand why you want the signal guaranteed and in your case you should have no problems whatsoever, you do have a 7 day peace of mind policy so you can test your phone before you commit to the whole contract.

We are the only UK provider to sell signal boosters for your own home, the Sure Signal guarantees you a 3G signal in your own home.
I trust this better answers your question, let me know if you have any more questions.

Thanks

With my N95 8G with my existing provider, at home I cant even use the phone let alone go on the internet with it, and in a room where I can use the phone if I move the phone signal is lost. You can appreciate my concern. No names of the provider concerned but its a short number !
Thanks again Holly

Now if I revert to my landline using an isdn max 128k Skype works fine every time.
I must own up that I am no longer in Brighton but now in Crete but I hope that will not stop you from offering me advice. I've asked Vodafone GR and although the try to help with the language issues I have got nowhere.
I am running a contract Vodafone GR 3g, have tried a k4505 and an e160, I'm running connect version 9.4.4.17702.
please any suggestions will be gratefully received.
John
