How to unlock iPhone

Before I buy a used Vodafone Iphone 6 plus - 6 months old -  can I request the 19.99 unlock through Vodafone myself?  Will I need documentation?  I'm suspicious becaused I can't test the phone with my EE sim, and wonder why sellers don't have them unlocked themselves as it increases the saleability.

Hi, only the original owner can request an unlock, they have to apply, Vodafone will not unlock for anyone else.

Many sellers do not have the phones unlocked because they cannot as often they are not the original owners. Which is wise to be cautious as you have been before buying a used phone.

A simple search for 'mobileunlockcodes' on Google will allow you to unlock this phone without any intervention from the original owner.

Vodafone aren't likely to help you and doubtful that Apple will either.

I would also use the Check Mend service! For a small nominal fee, you can get a status report on whether the phone has been recently reported lost or stolen. If it is due to be barred, no point unlocking it.

Hi

Some people are not really aware that unlocking the phone can Increase its street value. Some upgrade just to create revenue.

I would suggest you either buy a phone already on the Network your wanting to use or one already unlocked to all Networks. I personally buy my iPhone's from the  store because they are unlocked although obviously I pay the full retail price.

 would not get involved in unlocking a network locked phone.

Regarding using an online unlocking solution site.

I must urge you to air on the side of caution if you do choose this route and carry out lots of background checks and try to find real reviews about the site you find, before parting with any monies to pay for their services.

So many people have been burned / let down by using some of these businesses.
