Huawei 5830 - I Need the Configuration Details To Set It Up On Vodafone

I have a Huawei 5830 running on Windows 7 - I am an existing customer and want to use this instead of a datacard / dongle so I can have a wi-fi network for my other devices.

It doesn't work 'out of the box' with my vodafone SIM in it even though there appears to be a Vodafone profile listed on the device (from my SIM ?).

I can setup a new profile via the admin client for the device but need to know the following:

APN mode (currently automatic) but no value for APN
Access number (currently *99#)
Username: web
Password: assumed the same as username
IP Settings (currently dynamic, no address specified)
Authentication protocol settings: Both CHAP and PAP are checked
DNS Settings: Dynamic (no primary or secondary server values present)
WINS Settings:Dynamic (no primary or secondary server values present)

Any help you can provide is much appreciated.

The settings you need will depend on the nature of the price-plan that relates to the SIM card you're using.

If the SIM is from a standard voice or Mobile Broadband contract, then try the following:

APN: internet
Username: web
Password: web

If the SIM is from a standard PAYG voice plan, then try the following:

APN: pp.vodafone.co.uk
Username: web
Password: web

If the SIM is from a PAYG 1GB Dongle (non-expiring), try the following:

APN: pp.internet
Username: web
Password: web

If the SIM is from a PAYG 3GB Dongle (30-day expiration), try the following:

APN: ppbundle.internet
Username: web
Password: web
