Using Hi-Suite and Win 7 to back-up/sync etc.

BUT G300 will only connect via Wi-Fi (anbd then only after I downloaded the Daemon fromn the Huwaei web site). Despite following all the isntgructions and rebooting, reinstalling etc etc, the Hi-Suite will not conenct over USB- the feature I want most (screenshots) only works over USB so I beed to pursue the matter.

Just wondering if anyone else has this problem and/or a solution?

thanks

With the phone connected to the PC go into Device Manager and scroll down to connected USB devices.

You should see an entry for your phone. Right click on it and uninstall the device drivers.

Unplug the phone and restart the PC.

Use Ccleaner to clean the Registry.

Reconnect the phone and it should install the drivers again for you.

Have you tried connecting via different USB ports.

Thanks - Did all you suggested.

on re-connection got the usual driver dialogue but then a message: 'Device Driver Software was not succesfully installed' 'No driver found'.

I can connect via USB file manager but still will not work in Develoepr Debugging mode...

cheers

As a workaround, take a look at this app...

WiFi File Explorer Pro

I use this a lot and it will transfer everything... Contacts, messages, pictures, music, etc.

Thanks, but that does not address my problem.

I am trying to use the Huwaei G300 to develop Android Apps - but Eclipse will not accpet it as a Development Debug device (even when the Developer USB debug option is selected on the phone).  I can trasfer files to/from the phone with no problem.

The only way I can test an App on the phone is to compile it, file transfer it and then install - works but is cumbersome...

cheers

Hi jmaynard,

Thanks for the updates here.

I’ve got to be honest here as I’m not too sure what else we can try other than another PC to definitely rule out an equipment issue.

Basically if it works with a PC running an early version of windows we know that it is to do with windows 7 compatibility rather than anything else and gives us somewhere to focus our attention.

James

I don't have another PC configured for development but it works fine on a Mac (running OS X, 10.8) for file transfer AND developemnt (Eclipse loaded an apk and launched it).

Suggests a Win 7 driver issue???

thanks

Hi jamynard,

To be honest from what you have said I am inclined to agree in the conclusion that it is a Windows 7 driver issue rather than anything else.

I have been doing a little bit of research online for you about this and there are a number of forums with a similar situation.

During my investigation I have seen reports where people have had the issue where they have had Logitech software installed for a wireless mouse of keyboard.

Do you have any Logitech devices installed?

Other than that the only other work around is to use the WIFI app that TSD mentioned.

James

Nothing from Logtitech.

Eclipse will not use the device as a developemtn target via WiFi...

I need a new driver I think!!

cheers

You could always dual boot Linux Ubuntu.

I've had no problem connecting any Android device to my Ubuntu Laptop.

All the devices connected via ADB without any additional configuration.

Tha tsounds a bit 'sledgehammer v nut'...

I can always use my Mac but it is disappointing that neither Vodafone nor Huawei can offer a solution.
