Hi
I have bought a PAYG Huawei P8 Lite to replace a broken, monthly contract, Sony Xperia as I still have 9 months to go on my contract before I can upgrade. I transfered my monthly sim in to the new Huawei.
However, since having the P8, I have been unable to send or receive MMS messages. I have changed settings as per website instructions, but still nothing. SMS works, and Internet access is fine. Any one got any ideas?
Also, reception when in the house is virtually nil. Something I have never suffered from in many years with Vodafone. SMS messages regularly get an "unsent" message unless I stand in the garden!
Any help much appreciated. I have in the past been very happy with Vodafone signal and service, but at the moment I have had to buy an EE PAYG fone for use at home. If these problems can't be sorted, I may have to move my number to EE rather than renew my contract.

Hi,

Also you may need to speak to Customer service to have your account provisioned for mms.

Hi @russkaye
If you got the phone direct from Vodafone as PAYG, the settings will already be preinstalled on the phone and will be correct.
I suspect your only problem here will be changing the APN settings on the phone. This can be done by going into the network settings on your phone, scroll to mobile networks > access point names and changing the setting from pp. to contract followed by a quick turn off and back on. This should get your internet working.
To send and receive MMS messages, you need your mobile data turned on and need to be in an area where there is reasonable mobile reception.
There is further information to help on the link below.
Huawei P8 Lite - Device Support
As your service provider, MMS needs to be provisioned on your account. If you still have problems, live chat has the necessary account access and will be able to make sure the service is working for you.
An alternative is to download an application such as WhatsApp and send your messages over WiFi or mobile internet. If your recipients are also on WhatsApp, it will be a lot cheaper than sending MMS.
