Got my new P9 Plus two days ago now. Really impressed with it so far.
Build quality and materials are top class. Runs very well, really fast. Camera seems excellent. sound from the speakers is more than adequate for what I need.
Finger print scanner is superb, very fast, works every time without fail, can also be used to pull down notification screen and scroll through gallery.
Anyone got any tips or tricks they want to share?
When phone is not active a 2 second press on volume down immediately opens the camera and takes a photo of what you are pointing at in less than a second.
Pinch the screen to go into edit mode then tap as many icons as you want and a tick will appear against each one, drag one and they all move to where you want them on another screen, quicker than one at a time (this may be a feature on other phones but not one I have used before).

Hey @63johnw
I've seen a few YouTube videos about the phone.
The Duel Camera specs look impressive. How's the pictures taken inside and outside , low light conditions etc ?
The reviews I've read certainly are positive and the specs / under the hood looks impressive too.
What drew you to that particular phone ?
I understand it has Android v6 - Marshmallow on it.

I am no camera expert but all the pictures I have taken so far have been great, inside and out. The HDR really enhances low light conditions.
I have an S7 for work so didnt want one of those ! (its a great phone).
Have had sonys, LG G3, (not sure about the G5 following some reviews about build quality and battery), Lumia 930 (another great phone I loved but let down by apps support) so fancied something new. Was toying with Iphone but my friends who have Iphones say I may feel a bit restricted with them following my long time use of android.
Cost also came into it. The P9 Plus is actually a little less expensive than my last contract and a lot cheaper than the iphone.
Looking at the way Huawei are going I think they could be a massive force in the european markets soon.
I really liked the look of the phone (its a rip off of the iphone 6 IMHO), feels good in the hand and is very thin.
Th battery life also seems great, quite a bit of use all day yesterday and was only down to 50%.

I think your friends may well be right in regards to moving from Android to iOS. For some it's not a deal breaker but for others it can be.
The simple act of being able to place an App or Widget where you want to on the Home Screen evades Apple
My sights are set on the Samsung Galaxy s7 edge. I have the funds sat waiting (I buy sim free - unlocked) but I'm waiting until September to see what the Apple Keynote brings
