I am upgrading from Samsung S4 to S6 and want to transfer my data. I understand how to use Smart switch but I have questions:
which phone needs the SIM card in?
will the photos and videos on the micro SD card in the S4 be transferred?
if the above answer is no, how can I transfer them?
are there any tips/advice about the process generally?
Thank you

I don't see why not. Just unselect the other content if you have that option to avoid the possibility of duplication - it shouldn't happen, but...
FWIW, I'd copy rather than move the originals from the SD card. That way, if anything goes wrong, you can still get back to where you were. I always do that, expect for last night when I didn't and the move failed and the originals went AWOL :smileyembarrassed:
(It wasn't totally unrecoverable)

Hi, have a look here
http://www.samsung.com/uk/smart-switch/
Anything stored on your external SD card will stay on that and will be on your new phone when you insert the card.

Hi 63john,
The S6 doesn't take extension memory cards. That's my issue, I have loads of photos and videos on the SD card but no slot on the S6 to put it in.

Would Dropbox be a good tool to transfer information too.

I use it on my iPhone.
Very useful as an online vault.
