Update:

Both our VSS3 units wouldn't connect, all ports configured correctly, as a test firewall was even opened completely to all traffic, still no connection to VF. VF were less than useless trying to get this sorted, then i saw this forum and requests for ISP IP's to be whitelisted. Phoned 150 to enquire about a "White List", guy on the phone had never heard of white list but said he would look into it, hey presto my small ISP wasn't on the list. IP added, now gotta wait (he didn't know how long) for my ISP to be added. Looking on this forum it's about 48 Hrs, Monday morning will see if it worked.

Hi johnconway,

Thanks for the update.

I've just checked your IP address and can confirm that it is on the whitelist.

Let us know how you get on.

Kind regards,

Lee

Hello LeeJS, thanks for the reply.

Still no joy here.

Power light:       Flashing Red.

Internet Light:    Off.

Service Light:    Solid Orange.

Call Light:         Solid Orange.

Our ISP temporarily opened the firewall to all traffic as a test to no availe.

Are you aware of any specific settings to get this working on our firewall?

Cisco ASA 5510

Thanks.

Update:

Struggled with this for 2 weeks now but think we finally manged a work around.

Unable to get VSS3 to connect to VF to download it's profile/template from behind our Cisco ASA 5510 firewall so took it to a neighbouring building and connected to a home broadband connection with a netgear router.

Took about 4hrs before we had solid white lights. Unplugged and took back to it's intended location, plugged it in and all is well. Been up now for 6 hrs, need to test further but fingers crossed.

Thinking about firmware updates and such from VF, how often do these occur and how do i know if one is required? Might have to repeat the workaround to get these.

Hi johnconway,

Thanks for the update, let us know if you have any further problems.

The Sure Signal firmware isn't updated very often, but we'll send the updates out automatically.

If you let us know your serial number, we can check the firmware is up to date.

Thanks,

Matt B

Hi Matt.

We have 2 units but are probably going to end up having 5 or 6.

Serials:

40134642137

40134941281

If you could let me know about the firmware that would be great.

Thanks.

Hi johnconway,

Good news; they're both on the latest version. :Smiling:

Cheers, Ben

Hi all again.Thought it was fixed but apparently not.

Serials:

This unit has solid power, network and service lights but "in Use" light doesn't come on when registered users make a call.

Is there a way usage could be checked, to see if it has worked at all?

In the mean time i'm going un- then re-register some users to check those.

I look forward to a reponse.

Thanks.

Ok i have 10 users registered, decided to remove and re-register 4 as a test but getting the below error (only pasted part of the error) upon registration:

Any ideas ?
