Hi somebody pls help

I've had my phone for just under 3 months.. Everything was working fine until about 1500 hours when I checked my phone and it said no service

Strange I thought.. I checked with work colleagues and they had good service just not me

Anyways I resetted my phone, pressed home and on off.. Still nothing.. I then put my SIM card in another phone and it worked! However when I put other people's SIM cards in my phone which were also on Vodafone it would still say No Service

Okies so I spoke to apple.. Conducted a full reset to new using iTunes , reset everything so it was most like. New phone.. Still No service..

With apples help, in the carrier setting it was automatic, however when automatic was turned off it brought up Vodafone, we, three UK etc .. Apple said that if the problem was the handset it would not find theses carriers

Now I'm stuck.. I have no idea.. Apple believes that connecting to the Vodafone network is not just sim but phone as well and possibly Vodafone is blocking my phone from accessing the network..

Please help somebody

P.s I've checked my bank account and I've paid my last bill so no idea why, if I am blocked

Hi there

The fact that your SIM wouldn't work in the handset but was fine in other handsets and other Vodafone SIMs wouldn't in your handset, would indicate an issue with the handset. It would be worth you making an appointment with a Genius at your local Apple Store and getting them to check the device over.

Now, the phone wouldn't be blocked unless it had been reported lost or stolen. It wouldn't be blocked if you'd not paid your bill.

Hi @dan1981 ,

Thanks for posting and including what you've tried so far. I agree with @drey_p ; it sounds like a handset issue if the SIM works OK elsewhere. It also explains why your friends on Vodafone aren't affected.

If a factory reset and resync with iTunes hasn't sorted it, we can book the phone in for repair under the warranty. :Winking_smiley:

Cheers,

Ben

Hi thanks for the replies.. Just thought I'd let you know the reason was that Vodafone had in fact accidentally blacklisted my imei..

According to my local store my phone was the sixth one this month so far, it appears that there was some muck up somewhere from Vodafone side.. A little annoyed that when I phoned support they said my imei was not blacklisted but thankfully the service in the store is much better
