Hello Tech Team,
I have been tracing traffic and am seeing NTP and what looks like VPN connection attempts from my VSS v1 at my office.
Could one of you confirm my VSS is seen on the network and is connecing.
Serial Number: 21196989087

Thank you Gemma and Dave,
Reset the VSS at work and connected to the network and it connected to your servers in less than 5 minutes.
I now have excellent signal on my phone.
My Colleagues and I would like to thank you for your skill and quick response getting our external IP address whitelisted.
Have a happy holiday season.
Kind regards,
Dave H.

Hi reallyremote,
This Sure Signal hasn't connected since November 12, so I've given it a resync.
Give it a reset for me to pick this up:
For Sure Signal version 1 or 2:
For Sure Signal version 3:
Dave

Hi Dave,
Thanks for your reply.
I factory reset the box again this morning when I got to work.
I have been tracing traffic per the following document:
http://www.vodafone.co.uk/cs/groups/public/documents/webcontent/vftst061123.pdf
I see name lookups on port 53 and I see that there is traffic on port 500 UDP but there is never any traffic on port 4500 UDP.
My external IP address is
37.220.x.x
ClaraNET
This IP may not be on any “known public” ISP address list - might this be the root cause of a lack of connection? Is there a chance that this IP address is blocked by a Vodafone firewall?
I will take the unit home and stick it on my vanilla router this evening. I have another VSS v3 running there without problem.
Thank you very much for your help thus far.
Kind regards,
Dave H.

Hi Dave,
The VSS connected at home on a vanilla router in under 5 minutes.
Without labouring the point I am firewalled in at the metal box of a building in which I work. The building is also in a poor signal area which does not help matters.
It works with a 3 signal booster and I would like to achieve the same with the VSS if possible.
My colleagues and I would be most appreciative if you could white list the IP address.
Could you let us know if you have success?
Kind regards,
Dave H

Hi Dave H,
Good news your IP address has now been added to the whitelist.
Please try a factory reset and let me know how you get on.
Reset your Sure Signal:
-Hold in the reset button until all lights go solid
-Pull the power lead out with the reset button still pushed in
-Continue to hold down the reset button and reconnect the power lead
-Wait for all lights to come on and then release the reset button
The Sure Signal will be back online in around 1 hour.
Thanks,
Gemma
