Vodafone spams my daughter's mobile every time it is switched on with:-

It looks like you’ve swapped your SIM or updated your software. If you want to continue using data and picture messaging, you’ll need to update your settings. We’ll send you these by text shortly.

Trouble is, she is not with Vodafone she is with Virgin Mobile.

Nobody at Vodafone can help because we don't have an account with them and I am told that there' s nothing they can do, call Virgin. When I call Virgin they tell me that they cannot block individual's numbers from texting.

Does anyone know which department in Vodafone looks after the system that generates these types of text messages? I need to get my daughter's number off that system but nobody in Vodafone customer services knows how.

Thanks,

Mike

As far as I'm aware it's an automated sms response.

It should be customer services via phone or Live Chat that can investigate.

Was the phone ever used on Vodafone UK?

Is so there may be still certificates in the phones settings.

If she inserts the sim in a completely different phone does the same happen ?

Thanks for your quick response, this is definitely worth investigating:-

I'll check when she gets home. It's a basic phone running Kit Kat so I'll see if I can find certificate storage within the settings.

Hi @mikecoe

Depending on the phone your daughter is using, the phone should have an harassment filter in the message settings.  You should be able to add the text to the filter and this should stop any further messages.
