Solution

Just had the update, then config message and now no data!

I let my phone update (OTA) today and it seemed fine, right up until it decided it needed to send a new configuration message and that was the moment in time that the data icon vanished for good!

I have resent it 4 times and done the jump to another network and back trick vodafone suggested when I waisted 10 minutes on the phone to tech support.

Any ideas?:smileysad:

I've just had to factory reset to get the data working after the update. Annoying.

Does this work please?

The same happened with me later on yesterday after updating my phone in the morning.. The first configuration doesn't work but the second one (MMS) does.. I've even tried going to the setting then APN to do it manually but it says "Unfortunately, Settings has stopped" so there's no way for me to get it working again.

I'll try uninstalling and reinstalling the Samsung software then.. It stopped working and recognising my phone a couple of months ago and wouldn't open my phone up on it.. so so I haven't been able to back it up at all 😕

Same here..no data at all and I don't get the sceond configuration message? Trying to avoid the whole reset thing if I have to  Going to try manually entering the information now

EDIT:  Settings "Stopped" so I couldn't enter a thing for a new APN.  Currently doing a full reset. So tiresome.

Where to find your APN settings

Android and BlackBerry 10

If you have an Android device your settings location may vary by manufacturer and Android version, however the APN settings are generally found in:
Settings > Wireless & Network > Mobile networks > Access Point Names
