I let my phone update (OTA) today and it seemed fine, right up until it decided it needed to send a new configuration message and that was the moment in time that the data icon vanished for good!
I have resent it 4 times and done the jump to another network and back trick vodafone suggested when I waisted 10 minutes on the phone to tech support.
Any ideas?:smileysad:

Have had exactly the same problem as mentioned above so seems to be a common error with the Android Kit Kat 4.4.2 update. Would rather not do a factory reset but appears to be the only option. Aren't these things tested properly??

I've got the same issue after updating my phone. I don't want to have to do another factory reset. Trying to add the apn manually but getting the "Unfortunately, Settings has stopped" error. Tried to reset the apn and install the configuration message but that doesn't seem to anything either. can voda advise how to fix this?

So do I get a replacement phone while my phone is sent off for a repair? I guessing NO!
All they will do is a factory reset anyway.
I've fixed your mess myself by doing a factory reset and wasted 6 hours getting all my apps reconfigured. Had to call up 3 banks to get the banking apps to work. All my spotify music has to be downloaded again etc, etc.
It's really shows the lack of understanding your customer's needs. I haven't seen the tech team give any sort of technical help to resolve this or the pervious crap firmware issue, only generic answers.

Hi. It depends where you have the photos etc stored. If they are on the external SD card then no they won't be deleted but if they are on the internal memory they will.
You can get apps to back up your SMS messages.
You should have all your contacts synced to your google account, if not then do that and they won't be lost.
