I have a Huawei K3565 rev 2 dongle on pay as you go and this has worked ok on my windows xp laptop, i have just bought a Acer Aspire E1-571 laptop which is running Windows 8 and the laptop does not recognise the dongle. I have downloaded the latest Vodafone mobile broadband software and that launches when i insert the dongle but i get nothing else....with the software running it just picks up all the wireless networks by me. Probably just need some drivers i guess....please help!

Hi spurx1,
From what I’ve been able to find out the K3565/K3565-z are now classed as unsupported devices with the latest versions of the software, but should still work with the appropriate Vodafone Mobile Broadband Software.
Can you let me know which version of the software was working for you on your XP laptop? We can then look for it and see if it works on your Windows 8 laptop.
Thanks,
Andrew

Hi thirdorder,
I can conform that the K3565/K3565-Z will both work with Windows 8 32-bit and 64-bit.
A full list of windows/modem compatibility can be found here.
In regards to the modem, you can see what software you modem can use here
The K3565 can use any mobile broadband software going forward however the K3565-Z can only use up to version 10.3.201.
If you can confirm which version of the modem you are using I can get the correct software sent over to you.

I also have a K3565 Rev 2 and require the appropriate software for Windows 8.
Please could you advise where it can be downloaded? I find it strange that the older versions are unavailable for download when dongles have been desupported in future versions.
Thanks, Andy.

Mine is marked just K3565 Rev 2, no -Z so according to you is supported in future versions. In fact it is not recognised by the latest software just downloaded (7/5/2013) from the website. The little blue light is flashing but the software is not seeing the dongle.

Hi andypennington,
I have just sent a copy of this over to you now.
Basically as things are changing we can still send older software out to a customer but we need to make sure that they are downloading the correct version.
You can see what version of VMB you modem is compatible with in our troubleshooting guide.

Hi,
I have the same issue as Andy on this request. Can you please send me the updated version for K3565 Rev 2. Cause the modem does not work on Windows 8

Hi JJMinnaar
The latest version on Vodafone Mobile Broadband (VMB) doesn't support the K3565 as it's discontinued.
The only version that you'll be able to use is the software that's already on the modem, so you'll need to install it on Windows 8 from the device itself.
You'll then be able to use VMB in desktop mode.
If this doesn't work, please let us know at what point the installation is failing or what errors you see.
More info can be found on Mobile Broadband and Windows 8 here.
Thanks,
Kay
