Hi there,
I have been using the K3565-Z Dongle for some time with my Mac Book Pro with no problems. I recently bought a R101 Sharing dock.
The Dongle flashes blue in the dock & I have 3 bars on the Mobile Broadband signal strength Indicator, but on the web interface it says "Device not supported".
This is a websessions stick and under Mobile Broadband I have tried automatic settings, set it to Vodafone.de I am in Germany & it is a german sim card), set account type to WebSessions, connected to it with an iPad, all to no avail.
Anybody have an idea what is the problem? By the way, plugged into my MBP, the dongle works without problem.
Thanks in advance for any replies,
R

Hi Everyone,
The K3765 arrived today so I popped the sim card from the K3565 into it and put the stick in the sharing dock.
Connected effortlessly using the latest software version. No problems with use at all.
So it does seem that although the K3565 is on the Global List, Vodafone.de does not support it (As I believe I mentioned before, it is not on their list of compatible dongles on their page for the R101.
So all good, and as the new Dongle has a top download speed double that of the old dongle, and does the connect etc. much faster, in the end it was a worthwhile "upgrade"
Thanks for everyone with their help and suggestions!

Hi,
According to this page the K3565-Z is a supported device. You might be experiencing this problem due to the firmware version of the R101, but it's a loitle tricky to say without knowing which version of firmware you have on the R101.
Firmware updates for the R101 are also available on the page above. If you have problems updating the R101 firmware the post on here letting us know what's happening and we'll see what we can do to help you.
It's also possible that it might be the firmware of the K3565-Z that's the problem, just to forewarn you.
I hope that helps

Hi,
The latest firmware was already installed (FW 1.03.09). I anyway did an "update" and also afactory reset which of course always kept it at this firmware, but it was worth the try 🙂
As to the K3565-Z the Firmware version is BD_P673A2V1.0.0B09
Where can I check for the latest firmware & how can I then install it?
Any help appreciated :manvery-happy:
Cheers,

Hi,
That's the latest firmware on the K3565-Z.
And you've got the latest frimware on the R101 as well..
That would make the problem you have a bit of a wierd one as the R101 should work with that device when both have the latest firmware on.
As the K3656-Z works with your computer it would suggest that the R101 is where the issue lies. Did you run into any issues when you upgraded the R101 firmware? Was the dongle plugged in whe you did the firmware upgrade? It might be worth retrying it with the dongle detached if you did.
I think if I was in your position and all of the above made no difference I might try a different USB dongle with the R101 to see if that made a difference, but I appreciate that you might not have one to hand.

Hi,
I tried the R101 upgrades both with & without Dongle. Intersestingly, checking the Vodsafone Germany website Today, on the Store page for the R101 they do not list the K3565-Z. I should have access to a K3765 next week (Which they do list), and will try that, but in the meantime always open to other thoughts on a solution with the existing Dongle :smileyhappy:

Right, I know this sounds mental, but it might be worth giving the older version of firmware to see if that makes a difference...
Although I notice that this isn't available on the page I previously mentioned, so I'm not too sure where you'd get it from.
I'm being really good at writing only slightly helpful things today O_o

You mean for the R101? Ok I will try that next week if I can find it :smileyhappy:

Yes, I was talking abotu the R101 firmware.
Sorry I didn't make that clear.
If you do use the older firmware it mgith be a plan to use custom APN settings if you're roaming.
Let us knwo how you get on.

An other thing I forgot to ask is the lights that are on on the R101 when you have the problems.
Also, are you conencting the R101 to the computer via cable or WiFi?
Thanks!
