K3772-Z with Windows 8 on contract

Hi there

I had an E172 for my monthly mobile broadband that I got in 2008.

However, the E172 is sol old that it doesn't seem to work with Windows 8.

So I have just bought a K3772-Z and I put my monthly contract mobile broadband sim in it. But the software that installs from the dongle seems to expect it to be PAYG.

So my question...

Can I use my shiny new K3772-Z with my contract sim on Windows 8 and if so, how?

Thanks!

Well, on the 3rd attempt at uninstalling and re-installing, it all started working.

I can now connect using the VMB application or via Windows 8 itself, which I think is nicer actually.

Thanks for sticking with me.

Cheers,

Hello Stravonian

You have probably got the PAYG settings in the dongle and these will need to be changed to contract.

APN – Internet

Username – web

Password – web

Hi Ann

Yes, I actually just checked that and I had changed them as you have shown.

Progress!

So now I get the solid blue light which means I am connected.

But I cannot browse any websites. It's as if there is no Internet connection even though I have the solid blue light.

I'm now thinking I need to add DNS settings or something like that.

Any advice?

Thanks!

I'm kinda thinking I might just get rid of my VMB monthly plan and buy 2Gb of data with Vodafone Boost then just connect through my iPhone 5 using the personal hotspot facility.

Is the Boost pack still available as things seem to change all the time.
