Keeping discount when upgrade bundle

I have just spent 35 minutes chating with Vodafone and got so frustrated I saved the transaction and thought would ask on here.

I have a Red bundle which is 16GB for £19 with the £13 discount, my son wants the data increased the bundle to the 20GB one which is advertised on Vodafone for £23 including the £13 discount.

If I try online I get the price as £36 so does my £13 discount still apply or do I get mugged for being with vodafone?.

We all know these discounts are a blag because they all do it.

 

I thought it was a simple question but the guy on the chat said it might then said it didnt when I asked him to confirm.

 

Any idea?

He has got his pac code but you have cut him off so he has NO SERVICE.

It's disappointing to see his uncle has now requested to leave us @suechris45. So we can get him up and running again as soon as possible, we'd advise chatting to us online or when calling 191 (or 03333 040 191 from any other line).

In regards to your query regarding the discount, if your son was to upgrade to a new plan that doesn't contain his current discount (for example, the one you've spotted online) then this wouldn't be added to his new plan. Exceptions to this would be if your son has Vodafone Advantage, or a student discount - more information can be found on our site.

If the plan already has a discount added, we'd be unable to add a further discount to this.

Deals can vary over time and through different channels.

I think there is some confusion.

 

Question being asked is not about Upgrade?

The question being asked is can Op change the Tariff and get the same discount on the New tariff they move to.

As far as I know you can change your Tariff anytime as long as new one is higher Line Rental then your current.

Regarding keeping discount it is entirely down to Vodafone if they want to allow it or not.

However if there is a Discounted Tariff more than current tariff you are own, then can one move to that?

I don't see any reason why not.

Similar thing happened to me, I got a 10% discount on a tariff and when I changed my tariff by upping my data allowance (while still in contract) I lost the discount which made it a £12.00 increase rather than £6.00.

 

This was not made clear when I changed tariff online so I called Customer Services and asked them to either honour the discount or cancel the tariff change and with a minumum of fuss they honoured the discount.
