I'm getting the dreaded boot loop issue on my LG G4 with S/N beginning 509. As I understand it, this is a motherboard issue, and will require some fixing, but when I spoke online to Vodafone Customer Services using the online chat function, I was informed I should just take it to my local Vodafone shop where they will fix it there and then for me. Can anyone confirm if this is the case? I'm very doubtful having read a few forum threads about the issue.
I'm currently offshore for work, and won't be back for 18 days, and once back I will be travelling to Norway for a week where I'd ideally like to use my phone. If it needs to be sent away, I'm guessing there will be no chance of this happening.
I've also read about a possible temporary fix involving downloading the LG Bridge tool and .tot files. Is this recommended?
Cheers

I made contact with LG this morning via their online chat, so saves me braving the cold, a courier will be contacting me to collect the phone, and return it to LG for repair under warranty.
Fingers crossed

My phone returned to me yesterday. It now has a new motherboard, with a serial number beginning 609. Which is a Sept 16 manufactured board. So its all set back up to my use, fingers crossed. And its right what is said on this thread, go direct to LG, thanks for that advice. My brother in law has a G4, yep, his has done the same, it was before mine, he is with o2, and they've already said they won't repair it. SO that one is going to LG as well

Hi,
As the Motherboard has been changed its possible your imei number has been too.
This can cause issues if a person ever wants to unlock the phone to all networks. A person should update Vodafone Customer services of any new imei.
The other possible issue ive come across before is if a person ever wants to sell it on. The imei number will not match the one on the sales reciept or retail box.
That said its it's great to see you've been looked after.

Hi all,
I've now got the dreaded bootloop problem.
Only issue is that at first my phone would keep resetting and freezing and now it won't turn on!
Reading these comments I can only presume that Vodafone will not fix the problem. I have had my phone for 1 year.
Some questions please.
1.what are the details of LG UK customer support?
2. Would they cover phones within 24 months?

Hi
My phone was within 24 months warrenty and has been repaired.
The LG contact details are in the link below
http://www.lg.com/uk/support/contact/telephone
A courier picked my phone up direct. My brother in law dropped his in a shop drop thing. He has the same issue, he contacted LG by phone. I did mine through chat and email. LG are very helpful in sorting the issue.
Hope this helps.

It did, thanks! I contacted LG today. They will solve the issue, they were very friendly. Reading the horror stories here made me take this route.
I went instore to Vodafone, I asked if they swipe my phone before they access it because I have personal details on there. He told me that he could not guarantee it, but presumes they have no need to go through my phone. I did not find this very reassuring!
Thanks again for your messages on this forum, really informative.

@LondonAM I'm glad to hear that this will be resolved for you. As @63johnw has mentioned, when sending the device to our Repairs team it may be wiped during the repair. We therefore recommend backing up your data before sending the phone to be repaired.

Solution 2: To Solve LG G4 Wont Turn on
If your LG G4 still not turn on when you put in the battery, you can solve the thing as below:
1.Remove the phone battery, memory card and SIM
2.Press and hold the power button for 60 seconds
3.Put your battery on and charging it with USB cable, after 10 minutes, try to turn on again.
