Hi everyone,
I have a query about Vodafone. Calling today I received mixed responses so I thought that the best way to be sure is to ask here.
I have a need to confirm my location on a few dates, the furthest date being nine months ago. I always have my Vodafone phone with me.
My query is, can Vodafone provide me with data which would confirm my approximate location nine months ago? Mobile phones send and receive radio signals via masts located about a country. So where I was would have been known to Vodafone's masts - the key question is whether Vodafone can access that data backwards that far? I would be happy to pay for that information if a payment is required.
What do you think please? Is this someting that Vodafone can do?
Thank you for reading :smileywink:

Hi @K0037
My thinking would be No.
I doubt that Vodafone would retain that information.

Hi @ BandOfBrothers,
Thank you for expressing your opinion.
There'll be times when information such as what I need will be incredibly important to you personally. This is one of those times for me.
I think that theoretically Vodafone has the information, because systems produce it. It's just a question of whether it can be retrieved or not

Hi @ 63johnw,
Thank you, that would be so good, but I must sigh as I am with Apple and their system. Google would've been perfect.
I wonder whether there are any apps compatible with Google that could help produce the information - but it's probably a long shot.

A quick google of "iphone location history" gives various ways of looking, I am not an iphone person though so not sure if this is what you want or is possible with the iphone.

Thank you @63johnw,
I will give that a try.

@K0037 Take a look here.

My history goes back for 3 months so I would assume that is the limit. Whether you can find some or all of what you need is going to be dependant on you having the location services on your phone enabled all the time.
it would be possible for Vodafone to track which masts your phone pinged but I imagine not without a court order and only in the case of a crime.
