M4 Xperia & marshmallow

Having had an m4 Xperia for several days...I'm no longer able to cope with zero memory. Just 4 apps filled it up. It either has to be returned under not fit for purpose or it needs marshmallow.
Does anyone know if marshmallow is due for the vf Xperia m4?
Thanks all

Can you tell if it's been pushed out to sim free UK phones? At least then you'd know that vodaphone might have it

I read somewhere that Marshmallow was coming to the Xperia range in March - so the answer is that Sony haven't released it yet.  The same article (I think) said that Sony have a commitment to keeping older devices up to date OS-wise, though I guess there'll come a point where the hardware isn't up to it.  Whether Vodafone roll out the update may depend on their user base as much as anything else.

It's true that Marshmallow can absorb an SD card into its memory pool, but do remember that the card may not be as fast as what's built in, so it'll pay to buy the best you can.  Also note that a card formatted in this wa can't be transferred to another phone.  One that's simply used as external storage can, meaning that transferring photos etc is very simple when you upgrade.

If you're not happy with the amount of memory on your device, and it's still within the return period, I think I'd do that, rather than wait for a possible OS update.   You could either get a refund and opt for a SIM free version of the same phone (which still may or may not be updated by Sony), or go for something with more resources, but will be more expensive, of course.
