Message+ limited notification sounds

I have just had an update for my Samsung S3 and this now includes the Vodafone Message+. After using this for about a day I thought that it would be a good idea to install the same app on my Wife phone (Samsung S3 mini). 

Now both phone have the app, looking at the settings to change the notification sounds on my Wife phone I hit a major problem in that you can not use sounds that are from other sources therefore I will be uninstall the app from both phones until this problem is updated. 

I think you need to look at whatsapp as in this app you can set the sounds from other sources.

Two months+ later, any update on this feature being added to Vodafone message + yet?

Might be something I look at using with my wife on our new Note 4s
