Mobile Broadband - Connects then slowly speed dies away after a few minutes

Hello,
Have had over a year of relatively good 3G connections with my mobile broadband dongle on laptop at home but over the past few months I manage to connect and works fine for a few minutes then the connection speeds slowly die away to nothing. It started out working ok for perhaps 30 minutes but now I'm lucky if I get two or three.
If I pull it out and wait a few minutes and plug it in again it will sometimes work for a short while and then die or try to connect only on gprs but not manage to make a connection until I leave it out of the laptop for an hour or so.
I have been through these forums and have tried most if not all of the suggestions:
removed any duplications in the modems section, tried different USB ports, changed the comm ports being used to stop any potential conflicts. Uninstalled everything including all registry references to vodafone mobile connect and installed the latest version.
Now after changing so many things I am getting an error 633 when I try to connect.
Yesterday I have also tried it in a different laptop and am getting the same problem with the connection disappearing from fine to nothing after a few minutes.
Postcode is IV3 8PD
Please help!
Many thanks
Ewan Purser

Hi there Braeburniehighlander :)

Modem faults do not usually result in a degredation of service like the one you describe - it would usually prevent you from connecting entirely, or stop the computer from recognising the modem.

Since that's not the case here, it seems more likely that there's a network issue in your area causing this behaviour. I've checked the local sites in your area, and some of the statistics for data connects do appear to be a little iffy, so we will need to a raise a case to our engineers so the matter can be investigated further :)

I've emailed you asking for some initial details - please reply to that email and we'll get the ball rolling for you :)
