Mobile Broadband - VFM Lite Tries to re-install Every Time USB Stick Used

Hi

I have seen a similar post relating to a different device but I would like to check to see what the advice is for my device, a K3565 rev 2 USB Modem.

I have successfuly installed the device and software (VMC Lite). However, every time I plug the device in it gives this message (screen grab attached):

Device not supported by currently installed version of Vodafone mobile Connect

And offers two alternatives:

Install VMC Lite

or

Update existing software

Is there a way of disabling the auto-install feature?

Thanks

Hi RNP,

Certainly! :D

If you want to prevent the modem from auto-installing, you'll need to go into Device Manager from the Windows Control Panel, expand the "USB Host Controllers" category, and then right-click and "disable" the USB Mass Storage Device. This will then prevent the modem from auto-installing - however, you must remember to always use the same USB port, or you'll need to repeat this action for every port on your machine.

I trust this helps :)
