Mobile Broadband - K4505 & RAS error 635

Hi all - have got a K4505 dongle running on XP SP3. Installation went fine, running Vodafone Mobile Broadband Lite v10.1.0.25677. When trying to connect I occasionally get RAS error 666 (on the first connection attempt only, and only about 50% of the time), followed by RAS error 635 on every subsequent attempt to connect. Have tried all the suggestion in the RAS dialogue box (delete and recreate the modem, wait a little etc), no luck - as yet I've not been able to connect using the dongle. I'm in a 3G signal area, and the logo is flashing blue to indicate / confirm that.

I've had a look at http://forum.vodafon...nd-resolutions/ and don't see anything specific to my situation / combination of hardware and error message. I've also seen http://forum.vodafon...error-code-635/ but again don't see anything specific to the K4505, and I'm a bit wary of making things worse rather than better!

Has anyone else seen this error using the K4505, or any advice on what I can try to resolve the issue?

Thanks
Tim

I am having the same problem as Tim has identified above. I have tried the "Clean Boot" option and still hit the same error when all services have been disabled.

Managed to find the problem. It appears that the Vodafone software did not have the APN name set to internet but PPBUNDLE.INTERNET. Once this was changed back to internet the connection worked.

Hi George - I'm now getting prompted that my SIM needs activating - even though I've used it successfully for a couple of days! Can you help?

Update - forget that, reinserted modem and not getting the prompt now...

Tried Andy's suggestion, unfortunately not a problem for me, I already have correct APN details (internet, web/web)...
