Solution

Mobile Broadband - Recieved An Invalid Response"

Hello,
I am having trouble getting into sites such as facebook and XTUBE - the error message I constantly get is "recieved an invalid response" in the top left hand corner of the page. Its getting VERY iratating to be honest with you; reading through the other discussion forums, its clear others have the same problem, but I cannot see where vodafone have fixed it. Its not my PC - i put my mobile dongle into my lodgers PC and it did the same on his, so its CLEARLY a vodafone issue, and not mine.

is there a solution for this? I have read the previous posts, and done what has been mentioned but no joy

I experience the same problem. Sometimes it worsens so no page is opened.
But usually about 5-10% of pages do not open.
It only affects http pages, which Vodafone has proxy for. https is ok. Working via other proxy is ok. This problem is on both of our PCs.
It feels like e.g. one of servers out of N just resets TCP connection. So browser does not receive anything including headers.
The area is MK15.
Sometimes it is hard to work, especially with sites which use AJAX. I'M TIRED OF THAT REALLY!

I cannot switch off content management as the site shows that my number is not Vodafone's one (when I try to register it).
I wrote a message to Vodafone customer service, but nobody answered, nobody even bothers fixing that annoying problem.

Damn. It's time for looking for other operator.

Hi Pavel 000,

Don't give up on us just yet.....

I've had a look at any emails we've received from your eForum registered address and there's no history. I'm not saying you never sent it, just that we've not received it.

Can you check out this thread for removing content control issues? If you can drop us a line via this thread, we'll take a look for you.

Cheers,

LeeH.

I've wrote from other e-mail address and even received confirmation number #2668825.
There's definitely something wrong with proxying. But I must admit it works better today. I'm not sure if it was fixed permanently or not.
I've managed to register after many tries. Now I cannot turn off the filter, because I receive an error message.
I'll try again and write in that thread.
I've spend more than an hour trying to turn this thing off :( . I'm not an average user though.

Just tried again and received:

So it seems that it's hard to work with Content Control and it's not possible to turn it of either. 😕
Hope both are going to be fixed soon.

Use a free vpn service and it will work fine so you can pretty much confirm that it is something vodafone is doing

hi chris
i have posted a thread having similar issues,to check it wasnt my computer i opened the vodafone dashboard to see what upload&download figures were, then opened a new tab on explorer, when trying to access a new web page i looked back at dashboard to see the speeds at 0bps,so that confirmed to me it was a vodafone problem¬ my computer, hope you&i both get things sorted, pru

Just finally received an answer by e-mail.
----
I've spoken about the issue raised to your technical team.

They confirmed that this might be due to network congestion.
----

So talking about failing proxy, nobody seems to be aware of the issue. There seems to be no thorough monitoring of the proxy.
I'll try to turn filter off. But that will not solve the issue which other users can experience.
