Hi Eugene,
Welcome to the eForum you've come to the right place I have to admit I've not heard of a dongle crashing Windows Vista so far but it's either a conflict with the Vodafone Mobile Connect (VMC) software or the dongle drivers. At which point does the laptop crash and do you see any error messages? Does it only happen when the dongle is plugged in? Have you tried it in a different USB port?
I'd also recommend trying the latest version of the VMC software as this will come with the latest drivers. Let me know how you get on with the update
Thanks,
Adam

Hi Eugene,
We'll need to know the full make and model of your computer - and if you are able to quickly read and note down any part of the error message on the BSOD, this would be extremely helpful to our diagnosis

Hi Eugene,
Hmm... that info doesn't appear to have any kind of actual error code in it - just memory address references, which isn't very helpful
Can you explain what you mean about the wireless adaptor coming into play?
Also a screenshot of Device Manager with Modems, Ports and USB Controllers expanded would be helpful in regards to Vista not detecting the modem
