I went into an EEshop in a small town today and wooohooo thye hd a BB Classic in store. It really doesnt feel any differnet tote Q10 but of course has the track pad back . I also looked at the S6. Clearly quite an item but no keyboard of course. And also the SD micro card has gone. It's an iPhone lol.
So the dilemma. Stick with BB that hasnt moved on at all in2 years. Just caught up with the Bold. But be able to copy all data easily to the new phone. Or move to a virtual keyboard and thehow do I transfer data to the new phone? I cant use the memorre card on the S6. BB doesnt allow any transfer data apps.
Has any one transferred from BB to Android?

Most people find it much easier to get used to a virtual keyboard then they think, and the iOS keyboard is great for auto correction to make typing very easy.
Both Android and iOS let you use third party keyboards as well and you will find one to suit you, and they can click when you press them to replicate a key press noise.
There are lots of articles about transferring contacts from one platform to another. the important thing is to know where your contacts are now. if they are just on the phone you have a serious issue. Contacts and calendar should either be attached to a cloud based service such as hotmail or Gmail or synced with Outlook or whatever mail client you use on a computer.
If and when you decide to make the switch the community here will be able to help you with some specific instructions.

An app that provides a different virtual keyboard.
Google the following:
Swiftkey
Swype

They do both and are thus very versatile so you can use them in whatever way suits you the best.
With a larger phone one handed typing is difficult just because of the size and width of the phone.
Personally I'm a two thumb typist on the standard iOS keyboard.
I would suggest you are making too much of the physical v virtual keyboard issue. If it were as difficult as you think it is, virtual keyboards would have failed and not dominate in the way that they do.

i dont really have any great preference but when everyone tells me i should have an iphone they cant actully tell me why i should when i ask, the best answer is the music, well i have an ipod for that.
any other answer is the generic " once you have an iphone you'll wonder how you survived/ you wont go back to anything else blah blah blah" so no one can actually tell me what is so magical about the iphone.
my main reason for my choice of the edge, is the fact i was due an upgrade and didnt see the point in getting a phone that had been out for a while ( previous samsung models) and the fact the latest blackberry has softwear that is alreay 2 yrs old, why would i be paying 2015 prices for a 2012 phone? -( im assuming since the classic was released in dec '14 it was 2 yrs old from then?)
the Apps im not really too bothered about, i mainly use a phone for calls texts and the internet but i like samsung products so thought i'd try a phone.

As far as I know there is no difference in terms of how they work, just the edge has a curved screen and only comes in 64 or 128gb whereas the s6 comes in 32gb as well.
I like the idea of the curved screen
