My new Samsung s4 mini arrived this morning with no sim. I was confused but then assumed this was because I wanted to keep my old number - however the sim from my old phone (a HTC Legend) doesn't fit as it's too big.
There is no Vodafone shop near me to go and pick one up.
Q1 Why was my phone sent with no sim/ why didn't the guy on live chat mention it as a possible issue? Of all the questions I had, it didn't occur to me that sims come in different sizes or that I wouldn't get a new sim.
Q2 Please can you send me a sim which fits? Does this mean my number will have to change?
Thanks
Edited - sorry if this should have been in s4 section.

Calling 191 form a vodafone handset or a landline on 03333040191 or usinig livechat should enable you to get a new sim.
I know you say a store is not close to you but I have found this to be by far the best method of getting a new size sim and the full sim swap process carried out.
For information the S4 requires a micro sim (if you didnt already know that) :smileyhappy:

I'll second what 63johnw says. There are issues with the equipment database and some devices have the incorrect SIM information attached to them which doesn't help. I'm not even sure whether there's any sort of record of old SIM type versus new SIM type, but I agree that it would be helpful. If the equipment database was up to speed, it would at least be possible to add a line to the upgrade script that says, "What device do you have now? I see the new one needs a different SIM, would you like me to send one?" Or, "Your existing SIM will fit, all you need to do is swap it over." And maybe a mention of activation.
