New pay as you go sim not working

I was previously with orange but I ordered a free Vodafone pay as you go sim online, I've put the sim in my iPhone 4 but it's saying no service so I can't call the number to activate it, what should I do?

Hi Lushaye,

Please test an active SIM from a different network (other than Orange if you were previously using the Orange SIM in the phone).

This is to check if your phones unlocked.
