I do not know what the difference is. I haven't updated yet and I am running 5.0. Is it running stable? The OTA version is 277.40MB, but updating via pc is 1550MB.
OTA updates are incremental whereas Samsung Kies will give a "full" install of the complete OS.
Kies does this in order to offer recovery options in case firmware becomes corrupt and needs to be replaced.
This is why there is a difference in size.
I would suspect this is a combination of security fixes and getting ready for 5.1 or maybe jumping straight to 6.0 at a later date?

Following on from what thesoupdragon said, when my HTC went form 5.0 to 6.0, it had 3 small updates first, presumably to pave the way. So it could be the equivalent of that, but coming as a full install via Kies.

Thanks, now I know the info on Sammobile is up to date and correct. 😊
I'm glad your issue with the back cover is fixed too. 😉
