Nexus 6 delivery date

I ordered the Nexus 6 and Moto360 on Nov18th with expected delivery of 5th December. I like many others have yet to receive consignment or delivery information and have never been able to track my order using WEB ref.

I know that there has been delays from the manufacturer which was supposed to distribute on the 1st of Dec. There is a lot of speculation circulating that handsets could be delayed until as late as mid Dec. However this afternoon o2 have just started selling the Nexus 6 not as a pre-order, but as in-stock with next day delivery (5th Dec).

I am wondering if Vodafone has received any handsets from the manufacturer, or if there is a new estimated delivery for customers who have pre-ordered weeks ago?

Thanks for choosing Vodafone. Just to confirm, we?ll deliver order number SBL-1000000064997xxx to "ADDRESS HIDDEN"  as soon as stock is
available from the manufacturer. We?ll be in touch with an update in the next few days.

was the text I got today....

We’ll update you by email in the next few days – or sooner if we have more information.

Let's be clear, this communication we've had is completely miss managing our expectations.

But to get a day off on a estimated date when you've had no confirmation of it, is pretty daft.

So when would you book time off work to sign for a parcel which has to be sent to your home address? Because at my work you need to give more than a few minutes notice, which is all that Vodafone appear to be giving us.

I've pre-ordered the iPhone 6, iPhone 4 and even the Xperia X1, all of which managed to make it to me on the estimated date.

I don't know if this helps your work situation, but based on what I've seen previously, we would get an email with details advising delivery the next day.

It's probably too late now as I believe you can't change the delivery address after placing the order, but it was possible to specify an address other than home. Likewise, if you are able to get to the courier company's depot you are also able to let them attempt delivery, fail, leave a card and collect it yourself from them. They will also retry delivery at which point you could arrange your time off.

You're probably right. We do love our gadgets though and most people need to be able to plan. I reasonably fortunate that I can work from home.

This however doesn't detract from the poor customer service, and worse the shambolic state of the google/Motorola supply chain

They are probably held up having the Vodafone bootup logo installed 😄

Having just checked again on the order tracker,I notice that whilst it is still at stage two, the narrative has now changed to "we are awaiting stock from the manufacturer".

Guess this passes as communication. I notice that placing me on the more expensive tariff did not suffer such delays.

I'm not defending Vodafone, as this is rubbish customer care, but they said they'd send confirmation of when it was despatched... And it wasn't.

Why not just cancel and go to another supplier, that'll show them, and stop you from getting upset about the phone

I'm not sure questioning people's decision to take a day off is fair, no one understands the others circumstances so we ought to keep this on topic.

It's a shame there is no formal communication from Vodafone that woukd simple stop all confusion.
