No Sim Card Inserted Message

hi
i am travelling in scandanavia a few weeks and on my way through london heathrow airport i bought a sim card starter pack and a top up voucher so i could use this for the month. i bought a nokia 2680 handset that was unlocked because i had only a locked handset from australia with me

the sim card was put into the phone for me by the shop assistant and i was told in an hour it would be recognised and working. i flew to denmark and it has not worked yet? the phone switches on and asks me whether to start up phone without sim card accept or reject it then gives me a message no sim card inserted.

what do i do now to get it working?

Hi Karen,

I'm afraid if it's a UK SIM card that you purchased, it will need to connect to the UK network at least once before it will work properly. This is because the SIM cards are largely blank, and recieve most of their settings and connection details from the UK network upon initial registration. Without this having happened, the SIM card will not know what roaming networks to use, etc.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but this SIM will not function correctly until you're back in the UK
